This position: Actuarial Director, Professional Lines Pricing

Arch Insurance Group, part of Arch Capital Ltd, is a specialty insurer built around talent intensive businesses. We prioritize niche focus, underwriting expertise, flexibility, diversification and disciplined cycle management. We work creatively to provide new value and solutions to our clients and distribution partners. Arch highly values actuaries and actuarial expertise. Many senior executives and business unit leaders are actuaries by training.

These departments, Executive Assurance, Professional Liability and Healthcare, support the financial lines E&O and D&O risks that Arch writes.  This business is written both in house and through various MGUs and Programs.  To support these divisions, Actuarial completes monthly price monitors, yearly profitability studies, quarterly benchmarking, as well as a variety of different diagnostic measures.  Arch is continually looking to expand in areas that we believe could be profitable and beneficial for diversification.

Job Responsibilities

The primary role will be to assist EA/PL/HC in not only Large Account Pricing, but also assessing New Business opportunities.  While working on these projects, we have an amazing team that you will be able to engage for assistance as well as training them on these items.  As part of new business pricing and potential on boarding, this can require assessing profitability/rate adequacy, rate filings, data management (working with IT to set up data feeds), setting up monthly quarterly processes such as price monitoring and benchmarking, as well as other items.  As time permits, this position would also be responsible for one off projects from senior management and working with the team to complete profitability studies.
